Ajala
A location-based social app that helps travellers and locals find meetups, events, plans and groups, with RSVPs, waitlists and real-time chat. There are no likes or follower counts: the point is showing up.
As lead engineer I mainly built the backend, and also worked on the admin panel and landing page. I planned for scale with the client from the start: the system is designed for 100,000 concurrent users, and RSVP capacity stays strongly consistent, so nobody double-books the last spot even when a crowd arrives at once.
NestJS / PostgreSQL + PostGIS / Redis / BullMQ / Socket.IO
Assumes a request every 10 seconds per user, doubled for peak, and 90% of reads served from cache.
